Project Timeline
INDEFINITE was conceived in 2007 as a senior college project. A rough ten-minute hack job of an edit was submitted to graduate. Fast forward to 2010, the full project came to life. The film premiered at the Milwaukee Short Film Festival. After that, the project remained dormant on a hard drive.
Why Now, 2025?
This blog dives into the depths of creating INDEFINITE from old behind-the-scenes tales. The newly crafted posts come from notes and memories. The year is now 2025.
My hope? That these tales inspire newbie filmmakers to chase down their wildest dreams. We grinded through this chaotic whirlwind of production. Many lessons were learned. Now, after all these years, I look back on it all with clarity.
The experience was mind-blowing. Filmmaking was a wild ride. We brought together a gypsy like community of creative souls. We tapped into untamed energy from the cast and crew to create an unforgettable experience.
This blog will hit moments where I know we could have shaped a better project. We dove in with an insatiable hunger to try something fresh. We made mistakes. We grew. And above all, we pushed through to wrap up the film Indefinite.
This blog has a finite ending. The film is complete. The stories shared here are all about that wild ride in film production—nothing more.
About Christopher Kuiper

The key ideas for INDEFINITE come from the mind of co-director Christopher Kuiper.
Christopher and I crossed paths in the Basic Video 1 class at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The school provided us with archaic VHS cameras to craft small projects.
Before we teamed up on INDEFINITE, Christopher had already carved out his space in the scene with his art films—Daymire (2001), Passages (2004), and The Cage (2005).
Christopher has a deep fiery passion for comics. There is a connection between comic books and filmmaking that has inspired his work. He loves to draw, and back in ’99, he kicked off the series Breadman. The hero and his sidekick Doughboy navigate life through this “choose your own adventure” comic.
After Christopher graduated in 2005 he brought me an early draft for INDEFINITE. His idea sparked our interests to team up. Bringing that short flick to life is the focus of this blog.
