Unraveling the Darkness Behind the Tale of Indefinite

Indefinite was born in the trenches of collaboration with co-director Christopher Kuiper back in 2007.

Christopher had a vision for INDEFINITE–a graphic novel style film. We pushed the boundaries of our filmmaking skills to the edge. We blended martial arts, special effects, and night shoots with interior scenes. Everything was manifested to test our limits the last year of college. Our ultimate goal? To craft a film that looked undeniably professional.

The Batman movie—the Michael Keaton version was the inspiration for the film INDEFINITE. That dark tone grounded the reality for our project. Our flick dives into the gritty underbelly of the ruthless crime boss Otto. Caught in his tangled web of greed are Jonas, our flawed hero, and his girl Amber. Out of the shadows a mysterious figure—the “Man in the Mask” appears.

The project was planned as a ten-minute runtime for school. We filmed a longer cut purely for our own creative exploration. Christopher paired the film with comic books. INDEFINITE would roll out as issue #2, while the comics filled in the gaps as issues #1 and #3. In the end only comic book issue #1 saw the light of day.
