Killer Dogs of Joy

We cranked up the chase scene with some “killer attack dogs.” Vinnie the pit bull and Tank the bulldog were the fierce guardians of that yard.

The only time the dogs sounded “really” ferocious was when they played tug of war with a toy.

Slow Pokes

Getting the dogs to chase the actors with vicious real energy was a struggle. Tank preferred a slow trot over sprinting in most takes. Both were naturally lovable carefree pets.

The video clip shows the dogs before barking sound effects were added.

Viscous Barks

The dogs were not barking during any of the takes. It was play time for them. They were more interested in chasing fun than running on command.

Killer dog sounds were added to turn playful pups into menacing beasts.

This chase location was my favorite because the dogs added a wild surprise.
