The Alley

The alley was a symphony of shadows and disorder. The heartbeat of INDEFINITE pulsed with danger. We elevated the film’s intensity using the alley for multiple story moments.

The Throat Stabbing

The tension crackled in the air. “The Man in the Mask” emerged from the shadows. He unleashed a precision quick strike. A whisper of steel vanquished Kyle.

The illusion was brought to life by special effects makeup artists Sara Zmudzinski and CGI artist Dirk van Sloten.

With the video paused the moment dulls. The final cut of the film sharpens the moment to a razor’s edge.

The lighting had to sync flawlessly with the CGI knife and blood. Co-director Christopher Kuiper sketched a diagram. This guide ensured Dirk nailed the perfect light placement.

Christopher cemented the fatal moment in a gritty drawing.

The Car

The car’s role in the scene fell flat. We over saturated the alley with flickering tungsten lights. The Berretta was not concealed to appear “hidden” in the back of the alley.

We needed to dim the lights to shroud the scene in mystery. The darkness would have blanketed a secretive escape route for Jonas.

The Woods

Lights were flipped around to pierce through the woods behind the alley. Silhouettes of Otto’s thugs could be seen hunting “The Man in the Mask.”
