Premiere at the Milwaukee Short Film Festival

Opening Night Headline Event

INDEFINITE blasted onto the screen at the Milwaukee Short Film Festival in 2010. The festival showcases raw talent from local and international filmmakers. The Milwaukee Independent Film Society cranked out this event for over 25 years.

Our film hit the screen in a collection of local Milwaukee films. Co-director Christopher Kuiper is far right. I, Jason Williams, am second from the left.

Premiere Poster V1.0

Christopher fused video frames with his gritty comic style for the first poster concept.

Premiere Poster V2.0

Christopher cranked up the poster to a higher level. He crafted a killer poster that felt ripped from a comic book. Video stills were combined with a vintage comic book cover overlay. To bring the poster to life his hand-drawn signature style filled in the gaps. The poster was the same artwork placed on DVDs for cast and crew.

Shadows of Regret

After years of dragging my feet, I finally wrapped up the project. Most of the cast and crew had already moved on to different paths by then. Only a handful of them showed up for the premiere.

It was a self-inflicted wound. I dove headfirst into two other features before properly finishing INDEFINITE.  I was director and editor for everything. Hitting pause on at least one of those films was the choice I failed to make.

I wish I had organized a special screening within a year after we wrapped.

The Bladder Burst

I nearly missed the premiere. That night, the water tank bladder burst at home. I was about to head out. My amazing fiance stayed home while the plumbers installed a new well water tank.

Limited Marketing

Marketing the premiere for INDEFINITE was too little and too late. Only one email promotion was sent to friends and family.
